Brazilian Keratin Treatment (BKT) or Brazilian Blowouts are revolutionary straightening processes that originated in South America and have become very popular in the United States. Kellie was one of the first stylists in San Francisco offering this unique service using FDA-approved products. Kellie is receiving numerous requests from her clients throughout the Bay Area for these highly-effective straightening treatments.

Brazilian straightening treatments are much different than Thermal Reconditioning (TR)
treatments in many ways and can be very beneficial for anyone wanting to improve the texture of their hair. Brazilians don't break down the bonds in the hair like the TR systems do, therefore it isn't permanent, lasting approximately 3 months. The hair is straightened without breaking it's internal structure. If you are interested in trying out straight healthy shiny hair but want to see your curls again in the near future then this is the process for you! Brazilians are also great to use in between getting a TR to maintain straight healthy hair and can be used all over the hair shaft. The Brazilian is extremely safe to use on all hair types, color-treated, highlighted, previously straightened or virgin hair. It usually takes less than 3 hours for an appointment and costs considerably less than a TR.

Keratin Protein, which is found in human hair is the primary component of Brazilian Treatments. After the product is blow-dried into the hair, it is then flat-ironed penetrating the hair shaft repairing internal damage and coating the hair in order to prevent further damage. Typically the Brazilian keratin treatment is left in the hair for 2 to 4 days before shampooing, however, there are a few treatments now available that can be rinsed out the day of your service.
